Somerset Oaks Retirement Village is a Sectional Title development run by a Body  Corporate.

An AGM is hosted annually, and the Body Corporate vote for a committee of Trustees who run the estate with a vested interest in ensuring good governance for the village.

Management and Conduct Rules were drawn up in accordance with the Sectional Title  Act.

Somerset Oaks was established in 1977 and is the oldest retirement village in the country.  We have 149 homes consisting of two-bedroom duplex townhouses, one and two bedroom apartments as well as studio apartments.

The monthly levies are calculated for each unit, based on square meterage of the property. They cover the maintenance and repairs of the building, garden care, insurance for  the buildings, water usage and 24-hour security. On the sale or transfer of a unit a 10% Stabilisation Levy is applied on the profit.
